The role in brief:
An opportunity has arisen to join the audit, accounting and advisory team as a senior adviser, in a part or post exam qualified role. This opportunity is on the back of continued growth in our client base.
Who we are looking for:
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who already has significant audit experience working within an audit or a mixed audit and accounting role, and who is seeking to progress and personally develop in their audit career.
What the role involves:
You will be a part of our audit team, providing an excellent service to a large range of corporate clients and business owners, of which circa 75% of the role will be working on statutory audits. The remaining time will be spent on year end accounts preparation and ad hoc advisory projects for clients.
Your work will be based at clients’ premises, predominantly around Lancashire and Greater Manchester, and in our offices. We adopt a flexible working policy and so some time may also be spent at home. You will start by building on your existing experience, reporting to managers, directors and partners and by effectively managing teams to deliver high quality, efficient audits. Developing strong client relationships as quickly as possible will be paramount. You will start to have client contact from day one as well as working closely with corporate tax colleagues.
You will also have responsibility for training and developing less experienced members of the audit team as well as identifying ways in which we can improve quality and efficiency. As your experience grows, you will be able to take responsibility for smaller audits and reporting direct to Responsible Individuals. Beyond that, we expect progression to be to Assistant Manager, Manager and beyond if this is how you wish your career to unfold.

There will be an opportunity to work with a current partner and/or director to lead and develop the solicitor accounts rules and/or charities specialism within the audit team. You will work alongside other managers and assistant managers in the team, contributing to the effective running of the department and identifying improvements in quality and efficiency alongside identifying training needs and delivering such training internally to the team.
You will be commercially aware, responsible for realistically prepared budgets and for the invoicing of clients and ultimate payment of our services. As your experience grows, further progression opportunities would be available, should you so wish.

You will be given full study support towards the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) to begin with, and then have the option to go on to a further professional qualification.

This is an ideal opportunity for enthusiastic individuals, educated to at least GCSE or A Level standard, who want to gain a professional qualification within the Audit, Accounting + Advisory profession and progress their career within an apprenticeship framework.
What the role involves:
• You will carry out a variety of accountancy and audit assignments for clients in accordance with the firm’s procedures and report to the relevant client team leader and/or client manager.
• You will assist in audit assignments, when required, both in the firm’s offices and at client premises.
• You will be expected to have great communication skills to work within a team, keeping everyone up to date with the progress you are making.
• This role is based in Blackburn, with travel to client premises.
Your development

What the role involves:
• To assist the payroll team to deliver the firms payroll services to clients.
• To ensure all security and confidentiality procedures are adhered to. • With guidance, working towards a high standard of processing whilst working efficiently to deadlines.
• To collect and enter payroll data, supplied by clients, into PM+M’s software so as to meet deadlines and ensure accurate and complete payroll information.
• To assist in the processing and calculation of net pay, for each employee on a clients’ payroll, using either computer software or manually applying the rules and tables supplied by HMRC.
• To assist with client queries and queries from other teams within PM+M.
• This role will be based in Blackburn.

You will enjoy a combination of on-the-job learning and structured training, not to mention an interesting client list to work with. You will be given full study support towards the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) to begin with, and then have the option to go on to a further professional qualification.
Who we are looking for:
This is an ideal opportunity for enthusiastic individuals, educated to at least GCSE or A Level standard, who want to gain a professional qualification within the Accounting + Advisory profession and progress their career within an apprenticeship framework.
What the role involves:
• Preparation of accounts both in the firm’s offices and at client premises.
• Preparation of tax computations, where assistance will be given as necessary.
• Use a variety of accountancy software packages including Xero, QBO and Sage.
• Assisting with Accounts and Advisory team duties and providing ad hoc help to clients.
• You will be expected to have great communication skills to work within a team, keeping everyone up to date with the progress you are making.
• This role can be based in Blackburn or Bury.
Your development

We have 6 monthly reflect and act conversations to ensure your development is on track, with optional monthly 1-2-1s. You will also have a buddy and opportunity for a mentor.
