What is the opportunity?

As a Senior Technical Writer in Information Experience you work with product development teams to create product documentation for Omnissa customers.

As a Technical Writer, you should demonstrate strong writing skills and solid experience describing technologies such as virtualization, endpoint management, mobile device management, and general system administration.

Candidates should be results-oriented and enjoy working as part of a distributed, global team in a fast-paced environment. To be successful, candidates must have excellent communication skills and solid project planning experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create information for experienced technical users including product documentation guides, release notes, technical papers, and knowledge base articles
  • Gather information by working closely with engineers, product managers, and writers, reading design documents and specifications, and using pre-release software
  • Create and update end user documentation and help systems for minor and major releases

What will you bring to Omnissa?

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to write clear and concise text for a very technical audience and to follow editorial guidelines 
  • Ability to follow established processes, guidelines and best practices
  • Ability to install, configure, and use software products to create technically accurate information
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a global writing team
  • Ability and willingness to learn and apply new skills brought about by rapidly changing information and technology 
  • About 5-6 years of experience in technical documentation 
  • Academic background in computer science, a technical field or Journalism

Travel Expectations: 5% of travel Domestic/International only if business demands.

This role will report to the Manager running the Information Experience team, part of the Global Information Development team. The leadership team believes that investing in the development of team members creates the best teams.
