What is the opportunity?:

As Omnissa’s Marketing and Litigation Counsel, you will help the company navigate the complexities of marketing law and litigation, while maintaining focus on achieving strategic business goals that drive our collective success. You will not only serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, Marketing teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders, but you also will play a critical role in shaping the company's marketing strategies, litigation approach, and future. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to think creatively, prioritize competing deliverables, and provide actionable, solutions-driven guidance in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Here is a breakdown:

• Advising global Marketing teams and business leaders on advertising and promotional law matters, including claim substantiation, testimonials, social media campaigns, global events, and regulatory compliance, as well as partnering with Product and Privacy counsel on interrelated advice and projects.

• Reviewing and updating marketing materials, guidelines, promotional policies, digital content, and campaigns, in alignment with business priorities and regulatory requirements.

• Drafting sponsorship agreements, authorizations, cease and desist letters, and other agreements.

• Providing comprehensive legal guidance related to marketing initiatives, brand protection, and consumer protection laws while focusing on business growth and risk mitigation.

• Developing and delivering training for cross-functional partners on risk mitigation and litigation-related best practices.

• Managing global commercial and intellectual property litigation, pre-litigation disputes, subpoenas, and government inquiries - working closely with external counsel as needed - with an emphasis on cost-effective and pragmatic strategies.

What will you bring to Omnissa?

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law.
  • 6+ years of experience as an attorney with a focus on marketing law & litigation, preferably with software companies or in a related technology-driven industry.
  • Marketing and litigation expertise: proven experience advising marketing teams, as well as managing commercial and intellectual property legal claims and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Creative and innovative problem solver, approaching complex legal challenges with innovative thinking and tailored strategies to address the unique needs of a newly divested global software company.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively and to balance short-term needs with long-term objectives.
  • Adept at building connections and trust with team members and partners, achieving mutual goals, facilitating good judgment, and motivating follow-through.

The typical base salary range for this role across the U.S. is USD $149,000- $267,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for benefits and additional compensation, such as commission, bonuses, and equity.
