What is the opportunity?:

You will be part of the Public Sector legal team. This role combines legal expertise with strategic business development, ensuring that our sales activities align with public procurement laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will provide legal counsel during contract negotiations, ensure compliance with government regulations, and build trusted partnerships with U.S. Public Sector clients and stakeholders.

• Legal Advisory: Provide legal counsel on a broad range of topics, including public procurement, commercial matters, government compliance, as well as partner with leadership on strategy and evaluating contracting opportunities and translating the complex world of government contracting.

• Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with the sales team to negotiate, draft, and close sales contracts with U.S. federal, state, and local Public Sector customers.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local procurement laws, including FAR/DFARS and other U.S. Public Sector regulations.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in government agencies to facilitate successful contract negotiations and compliance.

• Policy Development: Assist in the formulation and implementation of organizational policies and procedures related to U.S. Public Sector sales and compliance and advise policy teams on strategic engagements with government agencies.

What will you bring to Omnissa?

Experience: 2+ years of contracts management and contracts experience, including related to government contracts, RFPs, contracting vehicles, and cooperative purchase programs (NASPO, GSA, Army CHESS).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Exemplary contract drafting and negotiation skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills allowing for clear written and verbal communication.

• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other federal, state, and local acquisition policies, processes, procedures, and contracting laws.

• Interest in being a true partner to our business stakeholders and immersing yourself in the ins and outs of our business and the industry in which we operate.

• Creative and innovative problem solver, approaching complex legal challenges with innovative thinking and tailored strategies to address the unique needs of a newly-divested global software company.

• Adept at building connections and trust with team members and partners cross-functionally, achieving mutual goals, facilitating good judgment, and motivating follow-through.

• High degree of professional integrity, ethics and sound judgment

• Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience at a government procurement agency and/or established Public Sector contractor.

• Experience with drafting and negotiating software licensing agreements.

• Experience with contract management systems.

• Prior experience with newly divested or private equity backed companies.

• Experience working for a technology company.

Education: JD from an accredited law school; active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
