Transport Planner
Department: Woodside Motorfreight
Responsible to: Operations Director
Location: Ballynure
Rate of pay: Competitive, depending on experience
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off
Hours of work: 8am - 6pm
Job Summary:
Woodside Motorfreight is one of the leading finished vehicle distribution companies in the UK and Ireland. An opportunity has arisen to join the experienced Traffic team based at the Ballynure HQ.
The company offers a unique opportunity to work in the leading vehicle transportation business in Northern Ireland operating in a very dynamic industry. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work well under pressure, demonstrate a high level of attention to detail. Working hours are 8am-6pm on a 4on 4off shift pattern.
Duties include (but not limited to):
Full involvement in the planning & co-ordination of a large fleet of car transporters and drivers, distributing cars, vans and HGV’s throughout the U.K. and Ireland.
Co-ordination and management of drivers while ensuring compliance with Road Traffic and Working Time laws.
Booking shipping space utilising the most cost and time effective routes available on the Irish Sea.
Ensuring fleet is available for planned servicing and maintenance.
Ensuring strict customer KPI’s are achieved.
Keeping Customer Services staff updated on changes and delays.
Communication with Directors on a daily basis.
The successful candidate will participate in out of hours mobile telephone cover whilst on shift.
Essential Criteria:
At least 2 years’ previous experience in a busy Transport / Traffic office, or similar environment with direct customer contact
Experience in the use of Microsoft office including Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Traffic Management and telematics systems, or similar
Desirable Criteria:
Experience of Stirling Traffic Management System or similar
