Job description

To ensure all produce received and dispatched from ISS meets all customer requirements of safety, quality and legality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Production and Intake quality team
  • Maintain quality standards across all products
  • Communicate to the QA team regarding relevant issues
  • To ensure all product packaging and detail meets or exceeds the customer’s and legal standards
  • Prepare Production and shelf life QA rota
  • To provide a training for new members of the quality team
  • To work safely and report any hazards or near misses to the QA manager or Shift Production Manager.
  • Monitor and Supervise calibration of equipment used by QC Communicate to the customer( verbally and via e-mail) about any quality concern
  • Ensure QA team has got most recent specifications available
  • Ensure customer specifications are up to date
  • To work efficiently and effectively ensuring that you contribute to the daily Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) of the department as set by the Quality Control Manager and the needs of the business.
  • Representing the QA Manager during absence
  • To maintain high levels of health, safety, hygiene and housekeeping (Clean as you go)
  • To clearly communicate between all colleagues in your team and your Line Managers in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience (preferable)
  • Can do attitude
  • GCSE or equivalent English and maths
  • Quality control experience required
  • Working within a temperature-controlled environment
  • Working in a packhouse/production environment
  • Knowledge of fresh produce standards
  • Prophet ERP system (preferable)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment
  • Analytical thinking Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to do repetitive work
  • Be flexible, thorough and show attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Be organised and methodical in your approach to work
