Switchboard Operator, Porsche Centre Tonbridge
Tonbridge Permanent £17,550 per annum (3 days a week)

We have an exciting new part time opportunity for a Switchboard Operator/Telephonist to join the team at Porsche Centre Tonbridge.

This role will be job shared with our current Telephonist and we are looking for someone to work 3 days a week on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8am - 6pm. Full time salary is £29,250 per annum, which is pro rata'd down to £17,550 per annum based on 3 days a week.

About the Role

As the Telephonist, you will ensure an exceptional welcome and start to the LIND and Porsche experience by providing a kind, professional and warm welcome to all customers that call the centre.

You will be a friendly and familiar voice, answering incoming calls in a polite and professional manner, directing the customer to right contact person, professionally handing over, and informing of next steps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all calls are answered promptly
  • Direct all customers to the correct department with a limited waiting time 
  • Ensure any waiting time is explained and understood
  • Take appropriate and accurate messages and redirect to the correct person
  • Ensure all contact details are taken to avoid disappointing customer experience 
  • Engage with customers in a friendly manner 
  • Decide the right contact person in the Centre, ensuring the correct reporting lines are followed to avoid unnecessary escalation of complaints 
  • Verification of customer data (e.g. name, e-mail, mobile phone) 
  • Maintain good security and housekeeping 
  • Ensure that cover is provided and communicated during lunches and breaks.
  • Ensure that safe working practices are employed in line with the Health and Safety handbook and communication. 
  • Carry out additional ad hoc duties.
