We’re looking for a part time Housing Support Co-ordinator (Domestic Abuse) to join the North Kirklees Women's Refuge Team. We have one permanent 21-hour post, based at our Refuge accommodation.

As a Housing Support Co-ordinator, you’ll be making a positive difference to the lives of those who have experienced domestic abuse. No two days are the same and you will gain real job satisfaction from this work. Work pattern would include – 3 days p/w - Working hours between 8.30am and 6pm, likely to be Monday- Wednesday. We tend to offer set days, but some flexibility required on occasions to cover annual leave, other absences and emergency sign ups.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be assessing referrals, focusing on tenancy management, risk assessments, referrals out to specialist services and managing safeguarding concerns, using a multi-agency approach. Support planning with survivors and families, including discussions around suitable move on plans. Your time will be spent mainly working in the refuge accommodation with some community activity also included in the role.
To do well in this role you will need to be pro-active and solution-focused and be able to work under pressure if challenging circumstances arise. If you don’t have housing experience but have experience and knowledge of providing person-centred support to those who have experienced domestic abuse, we would still like to hear from you!
The ideal candidate will be someone who can be;

• A team player working collaboratively internally and externally whilst confident enough to work independently Whilst no formal qualifications are required, applicants must demonstrate experience of:
• Working with clients who have experienced domestic abuse
• Working within guidelines and policy
• Liaising and working with other agencies
• Identifying and managing situations involving a level of risk.
• The issues and the challenges faced by those experiencing domestic abuse.
