Development Project Manager

Location: Hybrid with two days at our central Dewsbury office, with travel across sites where needed.

Contract Type: Permanent

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality new homes and making a lasting impact in communities?

We’re looking for a Development Project Manager to join our team and help shape the delivery of Connect Housing’s new build housing programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity to manage housing development projects from design through to handover - making sure schemes are delivered on time, to budget, and to the standards our customers expect.

About the role: You’ll take the lead on the post-contract delivery of our housing developments, working closely with consultants, contractors, and internal colleagues to manage each scheme effectively. From commissioning surveys to overseeing planning conditions and coordinating handovers, you’ll ensure every detail is covered, with excellent communication and attention to quality throughout.

This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll:

  • Manage schemes in line with Homes England and Connect’s development standards 
  • Coordinate project teams, brief consultants and contractors, and resolve site issues
  • Ensure budgets, risks, and records are meticulously tracked and reported
  • Contribute to evolving development procedures and shaping future delivery
  • Drive quality and customer satisfaction throughout every project

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in property management and property acquisition or new build development
  • Experience of co-ordinating and overseeing the work of consultants and contractors on and off site
  • A relevant qualification in construction, housing or project management
  • Strong coordination and problem-solving skills
  • A practical understanding of residential planning, legal processes, and building regulations
  • A collaborative mindset, customer focus, and the ability to manage competing deadlines

You’ll also be confident using Microsoft Office and development tracking systems, and able to travel to sites as needed (a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required unless alternative travel arrangements are possible).
