To support a designated production area, ensuring daily capacity targets, quality standards and productivity expectations are achieved. The role provides cross-functional coverage across the department, drives team motivation and performance, and supports operational continuity across shifts through versatility and strong process knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Take full accountability for daily productivity and performance within the assigned production area
  • Lead and coordinate team members working within the area to meet capacity targets
  • Ensure quality standards and production targets are consistently achieved
  • Maintain and update the visual management board daily, ensuring transparency of KPI performance
  • Monitor output, downtime, quality and waste, acting quickly to correct performance gaps
  • Identify, suggest and implement lean and Kaizen improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Proactively seek small, continuous improvements within the area to enhance flow, quality and safety
  • Work collaboratively with other Production Support Operatives to balance labour, share best practice and protect overall departmental performance
  • Maintain strong communication across shifts to ensure operational continuity
  • Conduct regular consumables checks and prevent production disruption through proactive replenishment 
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure the area remains clean, organised and audit-ready 
  • Ensure cleaning schedules are completed and machines are kept in optimal working order
  • Produce a weekly area performance summary highlighting trends, risks and improvement actions
  • Cross-train across multiple production functions to provide flexible shift and area cover
  • Train and support Production Operatives, reinforcing standards and expectations
  • Escalate recurring performance or quality issues to the Production Supervisor
Qualifications

5 GCSE’s grade A*-C - including English and Math or equivalent

Experience

Desirable

  • 1 years experience of overseeing a team of 5+ people
  • Previous experience working in a shop floor or warehousing role
  • 1 year within the manufacturing team
  • Proven experience as a Production Operative or equivalent
