Job Description

As SEO Specialist, your role is key in the initiative to deliver an increase in the amount of quality search traffic across key areas of the business including VIP stores, DIY+ stores, and own brands, in order to drive sales and support in business growth.

You’ll be responsible for optimising our own website, and our customers websites, generating more leads for the business and more sales for the stores operating on Teemill, opening up new opportunities for driving growth and profit. You’ll be responsible for identifying key search trends in each of our markets, working thoroughly through on-site optimisations and content that improve our search rankings.

You’ll monitor progress along the way providing insights into what’s working well, what isn’t, with suggestions about what could be done to improve performance. Working with the business in activities to make the biggest impact, and then implementing them with a hands on approach to deliver performance.

You’ll constantly be keeping an eye on what’s trending, always on the lookout for new opportunities to capitalize on.

Responsibilities
  • Constantly identifying new search trend opportunities across all areas of the business.
  • Work with teams to align on SEO approach, including link building and paid ads
  • Regularly monitor search rankings and analytics to see what is working and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide reporting on performance and what’s being done to achieve/improve it.
  • Provide technical recommendations where necessary to improve performance across the platform
  • Providing the paid ads team with PPC terms to support high performing ad campaigns
  • Write and produce original content for webpages - tailored for the target audience
  • Explore feasibility of additional traffic drivers such as affiliates & link-building opportunities and implement where necessary.
  • Implement conversion rate optimisation methods to turn visitors into more active users and to help improve website performance
  • Use social media to distribute content and encourage more external sites to link to your content - giving you more authority
  • Develop and integrate content marketing strategies
  • Monitor the algorithms set by the search engines to keep up to date with changes
  • Day to day tactical delivery on increase traffic across all areas of the business through:
  • Perform keyphrase research using SEMrush for our online store pages.
  • Discover new keyphrase opportunities and assign them to relevant pages.
  • Optimise on-page titles and copy to improve SEO rankings.
  • Develop optimised landing and collection pages based on research.
  • Monitor SEO efforts' impact with Google Search Console.
  • Produce SEO-driven content to boost organic traffic and engagement.
Qualifications

Required

5 GCSE’s grade A*-C/9-4 including English and Maths

Desired

University degree 2:1 or above

Experience
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of all key SEO principles and techniques, including on-page optimisation and keyword research.
  • Experience in delivering a significant increase in traffic through SEO techniques
  • 3+ years working in an e-commerce environment
