Site Lead

We are looking for a dynamic and flexible Education Lead to join our team at Comprehensive School in Swansea. In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate exceptional communication skills at all levels within the organisation, and effectively address any performance issues to ensure an outstanding customer experience.

This is a diverse position requiring strong organisational and planning abilities, as well as proven people management skills. As an inclusive leader, you will foster positive relationships and lead by example, ensuring a collaborative and productive environment.

Reporting directly to the Area Manager, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated team at the school that delivers high-quality services while embodying our company values on a daily basis.

You will also support Site Supervisors within our cluster of Swansea Secondary schools, being the first point of contact, providing support around absence management, recruitment and training, plus site visits to check and complete audits to ensure high standards. You will advise and guide Supervisors to maximize client and colleague satisfaction, and assist all secondary schools to achieve key KPI’s.

This is not just about leading a team, this is a hands-on role where you need to support with cleaning duties where required. You may need to cover any sicknesses or vacancy gaps and occasionally work additional hours. There is however no weekend work, and no evening work past 7pm.

Key Responsibilities - People Focused

• Ensure all employees receive relevant training aligned with our induction and development programs.

• Act as the first point of contact for any employee relations matters, escalating issues to your line manager or HR for further guidance on next steps.

• Manage attendance effectively, monitor absence rates, and ensure absences are properly recorded, return-to-work processes are followed, and the absence policy is adhered to.

• Provide a comprehensive onboarding experience for new colleagues in line with our program, ensuring they are set up for success from day one.

• Work closely with team members to clarify their roles, identify any skill or training gaps, and address any issues that may affect the delivery of high-quality customer service.

• Foster team development by building strong relationships, offering constructive feedback, and providing coaching to build capabilities and support succession planning. 

• Role model our values consistently with the team and client, developing strong working relationships with all stakeholders.

Setting high standards

• Conduct daily site inspections, address any issues directly where possible, or escalate concerns to the relevant individual for further action.

• Ensure that all company policies and standards in relation to legislative requirements are complied with and applied thoroughly and equitably.

• Carry out regular audits across all secondary schools to monitor quality and continually improve standards.

• Assist with health and safety compliance as required.

• Monitor and maintain stock levels of required cleaning products and communicate any requirement to the relevant person, whilst ensuring no overspend to budget.

• Add value to the customer experience through strong relationship building, ensuring we meet and exceed their needs or expectations.

• Work with the Customer Service Co-ordinator to resolve customer queries and complaints, including root cause analysis.

Personal Specification

• Must have proven management experience

• Must have cleaning experience or have been in a similar role

Job details

  • Monday to Friday 
  • 10am - 6pm - May change on occasion
  • Some overtime may be required
  • 37.5 hrs per week
