Job Description

Are you a talented individual looking to develop your career in a progressive conservation organisation? The reason the John Muir Trust exists - to conserve, protect and repair wild places for the benefit of everyone - has never been more important.

The John Muir Trust has a rare opportunity to join our Central Region team – we’re recruiting for an officer to support our work in Glenlude. Glenlude is 149 hectares and comprises the summit and surrounding slopes of Glenlude Hill as well as a riparian strip along Glenlude burn. Glenlude is a valuable wild place and its location close to large population centres (including the central belt of Scotland) makes it accessible to a range of audiences that can experience first-hand our work to conserve, protect and repair wild places.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about working on a community woodland project and has a good understanding of what it’s like to work with land, people and communities. You should be confident in engaging a wide range of individuals in wild places and connecting them to the work and ethos of the John Muir Trust.

If successful, you will be a key member of our Central Region team. You will report to the Glenlude Property Manager and be responsible for supporting the delivery of our Property Management Plan.

The John Muir Trust is committed to working together to promote a more inclusive environment and we need a diverse team to realise this. Applicants are welcome from all walks of life with diverse backgrounds, cultures, perspectives, and experiences to support our work on behalf of wild places.
