Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain’s new high speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a BIM Coordinator within the Design & Engineering team. This role will be based on site in locations around Kingsbury and Lichfield. The northernmost site of the West Midlands stretch of HS2 runs from Water Orton to Lichfield. The sites are mainly rural and will link HS2 to the West Coast Mainline track.
Role description:
Support the delivery of BIM requirements on the project and take an active involvement in the promotion, development and delivery of BIM within the allocated Sublot team. This will involve handling and coordinating the Building Information Models and data and taking responsibility for the management of information within the Common Data Environment and checking for compliance with Project BIM standards
Experienced required:
- Can demonstrate technical ability with the use of CAD, review and 4D software applications.
- Proficiency in IT.
- Proficient in using CAD authoring and model review software.
- A good understanding of the UK BIM standards and BIM Level 2 requirements.
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations.

About Balfour Beatty VINCI
Balfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI’s role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
Overall, we will be building the following across all our sites:
• 9.3km of viaducts
• 62 overbridges
• 35 cuttings
• 56 culverts
• 62 embankments
• 2 twin bore tunnels and 2 cut and cover tunnels
• 28 underbridges and 11 underpasses

About the role:
• Manage the collection and storage of deliverables and outputs taking into account the project BIM processes and protocols
• Actively liaise with BIM Core Team and other BIM Coordinators on the project to ensure an efficient standardised approach to work.
• Lead the integration and co-ordination of supply chain information into the BIM environment, such as survey data, fabrication details and construction sequencing.
• Manage the SubLot Project Information Model (PIM) to ensure review comments and clash reports are closed out and/or mitigated.
• Conduct validation checks on the design model to check they contain the agreed level of information and in the format required.
• Conduct training and workshops. Assist with the implementation of required software for BIM within the Project.

• Proficient in using CAD authoring and model review software
• Can demonstrate technical ability with the use of BIM Software applications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, to aid the ongoing management of the Project Information Model, through active interaction with the wider project team
