Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV) is not only working on the civil infrastructure of HS2 but is also embarking on the construction of complex buildings. Specifically, we are focusing on the design and build of industrial Concreate frame structures, including the vital headhouses for HS2’s tunnel ventilation and pumping systems. This is all part of the next phase of construction, and we are looking for candidates with experience in build projects, especially those familiar with industrial Concreate frames, such as warehouses or large commercial buildings. As part of the team, you will work on the West Midlands section of HS2, delivering essential ‘surface’ structures that ensure the safety and functionality of the underground rail network.
There is a total of 5 buildings that will provide ventilation, power, and access to the track below ground. Now is the perfect time to join us as we expand our expertise into the build sector, offering unique challenges and opportunities. The build of the project will consist of Piling and Groundworks, Drainage Systems, Concrete Frame Structure, External Envelope (Cladding, Roofing, etc), basic Internal Fit-Out, Landscaping, and External Works.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a SITE MANAGER within the Specialist Services Function. This role will be based on site in Kingsbury, The northernmost site of the West Midlands stretch of HS2 runs from Water Orton to Lichfield. The sites are mainly rural and will link HS2 to the West Coast Mainline track.
Role Responsibilities;
- Site Management: Proven experience in managing construction sites, with a strong track record in overseeing the construction of large-scale industrial or commercial buildings, particularly those involving Concreate frame structures for a Main Contractor
- Health & Safety: Extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices. Experience in implementing safety measures and conducting regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations and BBV’s safety standards.
- Construction Techniques: Understanding of construction techniques and methodologies specific to Concreate frame buildings, including knowledge of erection methods, jointing, and bolting techniques.
- Documentation and Reporting: Experience in maintaining accurate records of construction progress, including daily reports, project documentation, and communication with project stakeholders.
Experienced required
- Proven experience in managing subcontractors and working with a major contractor
- Excellent team player and team leader, reporting progress to the Project Manager / Construction Manager
- Highly organised with good management and coordination skills
- Strong on technical details and with good communication skills
- Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations and current legislation and standards associated with all engineering aspects
- BBV behaviours, respecting equality and diversity
- Essential SMSTS minimum qualified. Temporary Works Supervisor desired.

About Balfour Beatty VINCI
Balfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI’s role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

• 62 overbridges
• 35 cuttings
• 56 culverts
• 62 embankments
• 2 twin bore tunnels and 2 cut and cover tunnels
• 28 underbridges and 11 underpasses
