Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain’s new high speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Engagement & Interface Manager within the Stakeholder Engagement team. This role will be based on site in Erdington. Our head office is located within an excellent location easily accessible via the M6. The office is also accessible via rail, and we offer employees a shuttle bus transfer to our office from Birmingham international.
Role description:
- Develop and manage the delivery of the HS2 Project’s Community Engagement Strategy and BBVs Local Area Engagement Plan for your area. This will involve analysis, planning, responding to needs, identification of requirements and emerging demands, recording, and reporting performance.
- Develop and ensure specified stakeholder interface relationships in your area are managed in line with the interface management plan. Ensuring that stakeholder needs and U & As are understood by both BBV, HS2 and the stakeholder with U & A compliance delivered through BBV and its partner’s work.
- Identify and deliver community investment activities in line with the BBV community investment plan.
- Deliver engagement and interface management within the area to facilitate the consent programme through suitable planned engagements, sharing of information, prompt internal communication of intelligence relevant to consent progress.
- Ensure appropriate interface between BBV and other MWCC and Station Construction partners where within or adjacent to your geographical area of responsibility.
Experienced required:
- Ability to manage, engage, and develop direct reports.
- Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines.
- Highly organised with good management and coordination skills
- Community relations and stakeholder management experience
- Team player with ability to work collaboratively to influence at a senior level.

- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office

About Balfour Beatty VINCI
Balfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI’s role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed.

Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
Overall, we will be building the following across all our sites:
• 9.3km of viaducts
• 62 overbridges
• 35 cuttings
• 56 culverts
• 62 embankments
• 2 twin bore tunnels and 2 cut and cover tunnels
• 28 underbridges and 11 underpasses
