Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV) is not only working on the civil infrastructure of HS2 but is also embarking on the construction of complex buildings. Specifically, we are focusing on the design and build of industrial Concreate frame structures, including the vital headhouses for HS2’s tunnel ventilation and pumping systems. This is all part of the next phase of construction, and we are looking for candidates with experience in build projects, especially those familiar with industrial Concreate frames, such as warehouses or large commercial buildings. As part of the team, you will work on the West Midlands section of HS2, delivering essential ‘surface’ structures that ensure the safety and functionality of the underground rail network.
There is a total of 5 buildings that will provide ventilation, power, and access to the track below ground. Now is the perfect time to join us as we expand our expertise into the build sector, offering unique challenges and opportunities. The build of the project will consist of Piling and Groundworks, Drainage Systems, Concreate Frame Structure, External Envelope (Cladding, Roofing, etc), basic Internal Fit-Out, Landscaping, and External Works.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Section Engineer (MEP Buildings and Pumping Stations) within the Sitewide and Logistics team.
This role will be based in locations around Kingsbury and Lichfield. Northern most section of IPT Area North with 16.3km of rural high-speed line to the east of Lichfield and runs North of Curdworth for approximately 13km, through a mainly rural landscape between Sutton Coldfield and Tamworth finishing at Rookery Wood.
Lead and drive the execution of a section of the works on the Portal Buildings and Pumping Stations.
Report to the Sub Agent and responsible for managing the site works and supervising the site team from construction to close out.
Section Engineer with Civil Structure, Architectural Works, Building Services experience for a Major Infrastructure project.
Experienced required:
Civil, Architectural Works or Building Services Engineering Degree holder.
Experience in the construction industry.
Good working knowledge of current H & S legislation and SMSTS qualified.
Building experience along with fit out and civils experience essential.

• 42 viaducts totalling over 11km
• 66 overbridges
• More than 35 cuttings reaching over 30km
• 56 culverts • 66 embankments reaching over 33km
• Building four motorway crossings requiring box structures
• Six interfaces with the existing rail requiring both dive-under and overbridge structures
