We’re now expanding our team. Could you be our next Commercial Gas Engineer?
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in servicing, maintaining Commercial Gas Systems predominantly in the social housing sector, ensuring safety and compliance with industry regulations.
Please note that the advertised salary includes On Target Earnings (OTE), which is linked to participation in the Out-of-Hours Call-Out Rota, a requirement of the role. This involves being available for standby shifts, with additional payments for both weekday (Monday to Friday) and weekend (Saturday and Sunday) standby duties. The rota schedule may vary, but typically involves being on call for one week out of every seven, with an average of around 16 hours of call-out work during your on-call week.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that reactive tasks through the site/region are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on commercial gas systems and plumbing systems, including boilers, water heaters and pipework, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Diagnose and repair gas systems issues promptly, minimising downtime for clients
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems efficiently.
- Ensure all gas systems comply with current regulations and safety standards.
- Conduct safety checks, leak tests and emissions tests as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain service requirements and address any questions or concerns
- Ensure that plant faults and defects are always swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order.
- Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFM is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
- The position will require you to provide engineering support in emergency situations, and to act as instructed by Gas Safe requirements e.g. issuing warning notices etc. to ensure business and operational safety.
- Working hours are Monday to Thursday 08.00 - 16.45 and Friday 08.00 - 16.30, with addition to the on call rota.
Qualifications
- Gas Safety and Commercial Gas Tickets: CCN1, COCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, DAH1, CODNCO1, CORT1, ICPN1, CIGA1 & TPCP1A
- FGAS and catering desirable.
- Valid Driver's licence

Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer

- Knowledge and experience working on Commercial plumbing systems with strong knowledge of Commercial gas systems, equipment and controls

- L8 Awareness.
